Exercise of the Week

Attention kids, moms, dads, grandmas, and grandpas!

It's time to get a breath of fresh air. Right now is the perfect time to experience the weather. The intense summer heat is fading away, and we are just beginning to feel the cool breeze of winter. This week's exercise will get all your family members moving.

Parents, park all your cars outside in your driveway or somewhere convenient.
Get your kids (or kids grab your parents), and start hosing and scrubbing down
the cars. Be sure to use soap that won't hurt the car paint, and be sure not to
waste too much water!

Have a blast, bond with the family, and get a good workout at the same time. Plus the sun will help provide your body with plenty of Vitamin D which is needed to maintain strong bones.

Exercise is essential for people of all ages, even children! Just by letting kids play outside in a controlled environment gives them the three things that they need to work on: endurance, strength and flexibility. Check out this website for more information:

Welcome to Health 4 Kidz!

Introducing a place to hang out and play fun games, and learn lots and lots of factz. All with less calories and without (icky) carbonation. So put down your snack cake and join us for:
  • our recipes for a snack of the week or send in your favorites
  • activities to get your heart pumping
  • fun and cool factz
  • a laugh and a half with jokes and riddles

This site is for tweens, teens, and their parents who are looking for a source for healthy living. We're taking an energetic yet amusing way to teach kids healthy living habits that they can maintain throughout their lives.

Now get up and do fifty jumping jacks for joy!

Let us tell you who we are! We are a group of four college students on a mission:

  • Meet Joyce, a mother of a dancin' teenage daughter, concerned about the productivity of kids in school as related to eating habits.
  • Mingle with Ashley, a mother-to-be (yay!), wanting to encourage a good lifestyle right from the womb.
  • Learn with Karishma, a pre-medical student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, aiming to educate future parents about childhood obesity and type II diabetes.
  • And heeeeerrreesss David, an aspiring teacher, whose desire is to collaborate with school administrators and parents to enforce yummy, but good eating options.
